Gaep and Asociația Culturală Eastwards Prospectus invite you to attend the screening of video Facade No.3 (2023), by Bjarni Þór Pétursson, that will be followed by a Q&A session with the artist. The event concludes the Back to Where It All Began exhibition, part of Accelerator.
Pétursson’s work revolves around the use of fictional voids. These negative backdrops act as a code to decipher the perimeters of theatricality. For the film Facade No.3, the audience is invited to peer into a scripted space filled with entropic assemblages ranging from the whimsical, to the mythological. From this cinematic tableau emerges a narrative that follows the after-hours activities of two hired hands who seem caught in an endless monochromatic purgatory.
