Date of the event: October 27, 2024, from 16:00-17:00.
Location: Iași Train Station, North.
The artist Ioana Rusu, part of Accelerator programme, invites audiences in Iași on October 27, at 16:00, in Iași Train Station, North, where she will launch the public artwork “What fits in a suitcase”.
This artwork is a temporary public installation located in a bustling train station, a place frequented by countless travelers. Inspired by the spirit of train journeys and the chance to meet new people, the installation creates a miniature cabinet of curiosities.
The artist has filled the cabinet with personal items, inviting visitors to share their own experiences and create a collective narrative. This work explores the intersection between personal journeys and the broader context of the railway station, imagining a dialogue between individual stories and the larger reality of the moving infrastructure.
This public art project is the third in this Accelerator edition. The first artwork was presented in Baia Mare on 22 September, by the artist Roxana Morar, the 2nd one on October 5th, in Năvodari, by Dumitrița Răzlog.
Artists Albert Kaan and Mihai Savin will present their artworks in the following period of time, while the project is expected to end in November 2024.
The project is co-funded by Administrația Fondului Cultural Național (AFCN), implemented by Asociația Culturală Eastwards Prospectus and started in April 2024.

About ACEP
Founded over 7 ago, Asociația Culturală Eastwards Prospectus (ACEP) promotes contemporary art at national and international levels by implementing cultural and educational programs. Through the ACCELERATOR series of projects, ACEP supports emerging artists in the development of their career paths by offering them learning opportunities inspired by international approaches and practices. In addition, ACEP aims to deepen its efforts of training and developing new audiences through activities organized in Bucharest and country-wide, both online and offline.
To date, Asociația Culturală Eastwards Prospectus implemented 3 editions of the Accelerator Mentoring program for emerging artists, financed by various institutions, while the current Accelerated, dedicated to public art, is the 4th project.
ACEP received financing for the production of artworks; organized over 35 online and offline shows; supported an artistic intervention in public space of artist Tania Mouraud, held simultaneously in 9 cities; supported the participation of artists in over 25 national and international art fairs and developed projects for children and the employees in corporations interested in contemporary art.
Thus, with the help of ACEP projects, art contributes to individual and collective progress – fulfilling its well-known role from older ages – to foster the evolution of society.
